Rugs & Rug Care

Currently, we offer rugs that are produced using hand-tufted construction. Hand-tufted rugs are known for having a dense pile, as well as  good quality and durability. They are perfect for medium and low traffic areas, such as living rooms.

Due to their construction they will shed more than flat woven or hand-knotted rugs. This shedding is typical and will subside over time. Hand-tufted rugs should be vacuumed once a week at the most and spot cleaned as required. We suggest against using a vacuum cleaner head with a motorized brush as they can be too aggressive. Please consult with your vacuum’s manufacturer for more details.

Some pets, especially those of the feline variety, take great pleasure in scratching and pulling at rugs and carpets. While we generally endorse this behavior it can pull individual fibers out of rugs. If this occurs to your hand-tufted rug you can try to push the fiber back in, or if it is pulled very far out you can cut it loose with a pair of very sharp scissors or thread shears.
